Red Tails is gala screening in London with VIP guests Cuba Gooding Jr, David Oyelowo, Anthony Hemingway, Rick McCallum, Rudolph Walker, and Ashley Chin. Rick McCallum producer of Red Tails interviewed at Kapow! Comic Convention. George Lucas approached Rick McCallum with the idea for Red Tails over 20 years ago, and they started work on it after finishing Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Red Tails is an action-adventure World War 2 movie with a mainly African-American cast. Rick McCallum had a great time making the film with George Lucas. Rick explains that he and George were probably too ambitious with the script 20 years ago, they wanted the movie to be 3-4 hours long, but after completing Star Wars Episode 3, Rick and George focused on getting the script into a really good action movie. Red Tails is about the Tuskegee airmen, a group of African-American pilots. Three of the original Tuskegee airmen were present through the whole process of writing the script, preparation and shooting. For Red Tails, the actors had to go to boot camp in Prague for six weeks in winter. All their comforts were taken away from them and they were under a real drill sergeant who made their lives miserable. It was a real taste of what they had to be prepared for and they bonded really well together. Rick McCallum lit a lot of the M-80s, an 1/8 inch stick of dynamite used to wake them up at 3am in the morning. On April 14/15 2012 as part of the Haunted Hamilton bus trip. This hunt was a treat as it was the first time I have investigated a historic Fort. Very old tunnels and casemates that date back to the mid 1800s, along with some creepy looking buildings that have been around since the Civil War. The tour was great, I really appreciated the guides giving us the stories of past paranormal experiences as well as the history of the grounds themselves. But, having a lot of outdoor ground to cover between buildings and caverns, there was wind noise and 'horn wars' between ships/trains in the area that made for quite a bit of tossed audio for me. Unfortunately, as with the previous two ghost hunts I have been on, I did not walk away with any one single "wow" moment as good as TALA (my holy grail it seems these days). The closest moments were thinking I heard my name called out in the "mystery house" as I called it, and at the end of the whole night, 4:15ish in the NW casemate, where I did hear and captured on my recorder a voice saying "Adam's camera." Which was pretty cool thinking about it in hindsight, maybe my expectations have become too high, eegads sorry. :( As always, despite any solid "OMG A REAL LIFE GHOST" moment, I had an absolute blast. After an attempt of painting with a cannon in 1975, I returned to this idea a few months ago. This video was created in a hurry during my practice shots as I developed a working technique for this new and unique artform. As an artist, I feel that it is important to create something that reflects your original ideas, talent, and workmanship. No one ever used the awesome power of a black powder weapon in the history of art before. The Civil War cannon and the 1858 Army 44 caliber Remington Revolver that I use to shoot the paint on my canvases or metal plates, are instrumental in the beautiful spacelike patterns in my artwork. After painting them, I finish these creations in the liking of my now famous holographic metal art in color. Now I can honestly challenge anyone in this world to come up with something as unique and creative as these "little universes" that I am creating. I would like to add that what better way to create a universe than with starting out with a "BIG BANG!!!!"These are clips from the Civil War in the 80s.
